On Monday and Tuesday, our year 12 and 13 Business students attended the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Kickstart event via Skype.
The event was held virtually this year due to COVID and attended by many Auckland schools.
Kickstart welcomes the students to YES and how YES provides a connective experience to the curriculum. Students were provided with all the information to navigate the world of YES. They conducted activities where students could win money, which they could use to help get their business idea off the ground. A Waitākere College student won $100 on Tuesday and is looking forward to developing her business.
Over the last three weeks, the 12/13 BUS students have been conducting Ideation, which is when they investigate ideas through personal experiences, others' experiences, world/country/city and/or suburb issues, cultural backgrounds and any other aspects they can think off. They work through these ideas and hopefully end up with a business idea, which will be transformed into an operational business.
We look forward to seeing what business ideas our students come up with over the coming weeks.
