Polynesian Panthers
Humanities Department had the pleasure of hosting the Polynesian Panthers founding members (above): Dr Melanie Anae, Rev Alec Toleafoa and Tigilau Ness.
Our students were fortunate to hear from these amazing Pasifika pioneers whom at such a young age were fighting for equality and social justice! Our staff and students were so captivated by it all and with so much interest and enthusiasm the conversations are continuing today.
It was such an honour and a privilege for us all to hear about their incredible journey.
A big 'FA'AFETAI LAVA' to Dr Melanie Anae, Rev Alec Toleafoa and Tigilau Ness for their amazing presentation and talanoa with our students.
Another 'thank you' to our host students, Sam Schuster, Lani Tuala Milo, Joseph Schwalger and Jordyn Passi.
