Vocational Pathways provides students with fantastic opportunities to explore their career aspirations.
Vocational Pathways has started strong this year, with both Academy and Gateway students attending a two-day first aid course. This course was a prerequisite for attending Unitec workshops, NZMA for Hospitality/Chef training and Gateway work experience placements.
Our Vocational Pathways students were excited to apply the first aid theory they had learnt to various scenarios, including a (mock) car accident and (mock) BBQ flare-ups. These students have everything they need to apply these skills in a home or work setting.
Some exciting and aspiring career choices have been chosen this year, including:
- Accounting
- Animal husbandry
- Aviation
- Building/Construction
- Business management
- Customs/Police
- Engineering/Civil
- Flight Attendant/Tourism
- Hospitality
- I.T./Computers & game design
- Interior Design
- Makeup artistry
- Personal Training
- Plumber/Electrician
- Outdoor Education instructor
- Sales/Customer Services
- Teaching & Early Childhood Education
- Warehousing
If students (year 11-13) want to gain customer service skills or skills in another specific area of interest for a future career option, come and see the Academy or Gateway teachers and see if Vocational Pathways (in C Block) can help you take that next step. Limited spaces are available; could one of these be yours?
