Aryan Reddy, Bernardo Wessels, Joshua Dittmar, and Abdullah Ali represented Waitākere College at the Novice Wrestling Competition at Liston College on Monday. For most of them, it was their first time competing in an official wrestling match, but after eight weeks of dedicated training every Thursday after school, they stepped onto the mat with grit and determination. Despite their limited experience, they delivered outstanding performances.

A standout moment was Bernardo Wessels and Joshua Dittmar winning their first-ever wrestling matches, with Bernardo finishing second overall in his weight category, while Joshua and Abdullah secured third-place finishes in theirs. The competition provided a fantastic learning experience, and the boys will continue training at Liston College to gain further experience and prepare for future events.
