This year we are excited to introduce a new Librarian to our team, Whaea Leigh who comes to us from Liston College, where she was the sole librarian for nearly 6 years.  Whaea Leigh joins Mrs Thyberg and together they are your library team.  Whaea Leigh has been a librarian for 25 years working in schools and in the public library system and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her as well as a passion for all things reading and books. A random fact about Whaea Leigh is that she likes to listen to audio books while cleaning the house. 

Mrs Thyberg joined the library team in 2020 and prior to that was the Director of International Students. Mrs Thyberg is in her 25th year at Waitākere College. A random fact about Mrs Thyberg is that she loves running and reading books online to her grandchildren.

The library is all about reading and learning and we are proud to say we have over 10000 books just waiting to be read.  If you have a favourite book that you think we need to add to our collection please let us know.  We really love it when students recommend books to us.

Helpful Links  Web App Library Catalogue Library Instagram Page For those of you who like a good board game come and check out our Tech Free Tuesdays.  Every Tuesday lunchtime you get to go back to the good old days and leave your devices in your bags and come in and play a game.  We have heaps to choose from and Chess and card games are available every day, not just on Tuesdays. As well as being open during interval and lunchtime the library is open before school and until 4 pm on Wednesdays.  So if you haven't been to the library yet drop by and say hi, you know you want to!
