Alex Lay, Scholarship Slay!

Congratulations to Alex Lay for achieving an impressive 7 x Scholarships!

Alex is an exceptionally dedicated student who consistently strives not just for excellence but for perfection. He achieved a total of seven NZQA Scholarships in the following subjects:

- Biology
- English
- Chemistry
- Earth and Space Science
- Statistics
- Geography
- History

Whenever you glanced over, you would find him either writing furiously, fully absorbed in his work, or explaining a concept to a classmate, helping them with their studies. In his final year, Alex really came out of his shell, showcasing his sense of humour, perseverance, and ambition. He independently undertook the study of three of his scholarship subjects, requiring minimal input from his teachers. Once resources became available, he proactively worked through the content, seeking help from various sources to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in the scholarship exams.

Alex is humble about his intelligence and generous with his knowledge. His commitment to academic success, attention to detail, and strong work ethic set a shining example for his peers. He is well-liked by his classmates and wholeheartedly embraced his role as a prefect, serving as a great role model for younger students to aspire to.

A bright future certainly awaits him in whatever field he chooses!
