Waitākere College

Introducing our Nurses and Student Centre

Waitākere College has two Registered Nurses, Sarah Thomson and Rebekah Nicholson, who work alongside visiting doctors from Healthwest Youth Hub, the School Dental Service, Public Health Nurses, Hearing Nurses, Specsavers, and Vaccinators. Our nurses are funded by Te Whata Ora Waitematā to provide a youth-focused, confidential nursing service for our students.

Student Centre Information

The Student Centre is the primary hub for all student-related matters. This includes uniform sales, access to nurses and counsellors, and a place for parents or caregivers to collect their children during school hours if they are sick or need to leave early.

If Your Child is Sick - Your child must visit the Student Centre, where the nurse will contact you. - You can then collect your child and sign them out from the Student Centre (not the Front Reception). - If your child texts you to say they feel sick, please encourage them to follow the correct procedure and see the nurse.

If You Are Picking Up Your Child Early - Please write a note in your child's school diary so that the teacher is aware and can arrange for your child to meet you at the Student Centre at the designated time. - Do not go to the Front Reception. The Student Centre is marked on the attached map. You can park on the street and walk to the Student Centre to meet and sign out your child.
