Upcoming changes to train lines
We have been advised of the following from Auckland Transport:
During the next few months, the following important work is taking place which will require some rail line closures as well as temporary changes to rail services on some lines as per the table below.
To find out more about customers’ public transport options during these works, customers can be directed to AT’s Journey Planner or to the AT Mobile app. Customers can also view the train line status page on the AT website.

Monday 14 October – Friday 25 October: | Single Line Running (SLR) booked for NAL for both weeks. Due to the SLR past Maungawhau, train schedules for the Western Line have minor adjustments from their regular schedule, but the frequency remains unchanged. Dwell times at stations have been modified to allow trains to pass on the single track. Recommended that customers check Journey Planner before they start their journey. | SLR to deliver platform works at Maungawhau, allow for asphalting, MC60 snag work. |
28 October – 30 October:
| Platform 1 at Waitematā Station will be closed. Western line services to Waitematā will run on a reduced frequency of 20 minutes. Services will continue to run on a 10-minute frequency between Swanson and Newmarket in the peak. Customers can change at Newmarket to the Southern line to continue their journeys.
