It was an exciting week for National Schools Library Week!
On Monday we were fortunate enough to host author David Riley from Reading Warrior. David is a gifted communicator and the workshops 'Read to Succeed' and 'Your Voice Matters' were inspiring and encouraging to the selected Year 9 & 10 students who attended.
We had a fun read-aloud with lots of student involvement on Monday and the highlight of the week was our Big Book Giveaway on Wednesday was a huge success, with many students taking home some fantastic books.
Our Design a Bookmark Competition will conclude today and the winners will be announced next week. The winning bookmarks will be part of our Bookmark Hall of Fame and distributed to students when they issue books.
Last but not least was our Once Upon a Time.... tell a story event. Interactive and hilarious, students added their sentences to a story and came up with some wacky tales!
As our week concludes, let's remember the famous words of our friend Dr Seuss:
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
