On a beautiful Monday, the 20th of May, the Year 13 Geography class set off on an exciting day trip to Long Bay and Muriwai. Their mission was to gather valuable data for an upcoming research internal that would compare the fascinating coastal processes at each location. The 39 km trip between the 2 coasts was well worth the drive as students were blessed with fantastic weather, which not only made data collection easier it also provided them with the opportunity to marvel at Auckland's rugged and varied coastal landscapes on a sunny autumn day.
Mr Gibbs and Miss Millar were also able to engage the students in in-depth discussions about the intricate processes that shaped the features at Muriwai Beach, with the aim of enhancing the student's understanding of the environment in preparation for the end of year exam.
