We celebrated the blessing of six of our new classrooms on Wednesday morning. The new classroom block is part of a sixteen-classroom complex to be completed by the end of the year and is the first to be opened.
The name for this block of six classrooms is "Te Korowai Hauora me ngā Nukuhanga," which means "the cloak of health and movement." These classrooms will mainly be used for PE and Health classes.
Warahi and Linda Paki, our Kamautua and Kuia, led us through the blessing. Speakers from our Sports Council, Leah Mc Grath, Head of PE Philip Brain, and Principal Mark Shanahan, acknowledged the staff, students, and builders. It was a magical morning with a community celebration for the opening of these new classrooms.
Thank you to all involved in the blessing and the tireless work of our property team and contractors in having these classrooms ready for learning.
