The Services Academies of Waitākere College observed ANZAC Day on Wednesday because this year the day falls during the school holidays.
The Year 12 and 13 Services Academies were joined by the Year 10 Services Academy Option.
Gavin Boyle led the combined Year 12 and 13 Academies. The Year 10 Students were led by Year 11 Services Mentor Student Marley Diener-Whitelaw, Marley also assisted with raising the flag at the end of the ceremony. Alexander Nathan-Siaosi and Miriama Grace read the roll of the fallen and the Ode of Remembrance, they were joined by Ocean Kohere-Armstrong who read the Ode in Māori.
Thank you to Staff Morgan for leading the ceremony and a heartfelt thank you to all the students, staff and whānau who came to support and pay their respects.
As always we can further support our veterans by making a donation and wearing a poppy, or attending an ANZAC Day Service near you.
Lest we forget.
