Maia Masters participated in the Auckland Secondary School Athletics Championship on Tuesday, March 26th, after qualifying at the zone event. She performed exceptionally well in her 100m and 200m heats, which allowed her to make it to the finals. 

In the 200m final, she achieved a personal best, earning her the silver medal. In the 100m final, she won the bronze medal in a very close race with the silver medalist, since they both finished with the same time, the officials had to measure the finish time down to 1/1000 sec to determine the final placement. Following her excellent performance, Maia has been selected to represent the Auckland School team in the North Island Secondary School Championship, which will be held after Easter and will mark the end of the season.
