This term we welcomed Phil Collins to Waitākere College.

"I spent the first 13 years of my career teaching mathematics at Northcote College. In that time I held roles as the Head of Department and School Leader for the Community of Learning. I’m excited to come over and join the dedicated staff at Waitākere College as Assistant Principal and contribute to the excellent educational outcomes for students here. 

Education is something I have a passion for and I love to think and talk about it. I married a teacher and have two children at primary school. I sit on their school’s Board of Trustees as a parent representative and I have recently completed the Master of Secondary School Leadership programme. My roles this year are in day relief, education outside the classroom, IT and mathematics teaching. 

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy camping, fishing, music and helping out on the sports field."
