Hailing from Japan, Cambodia, China, and Sri Lanka, we warmly welcome our newest additions.
It has been great to welcome these students to our school and the community during the international orientation day last week, and the powhiri held for all new students last Friday.
These students come to New Zealand not knowing anybody and are placed into homestays that the school approves. Our homestay families are often the first friendly faces our students meet and get to know. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these wonderful families for opening their homes to our students.
Our outstanding Kiwi Buddies, students of Waitākere College, play an invaluable role in guiding our international students through their journey. They help the international students find their way around the school, answer any questions they may have and teach them about the Kiwi way of life.
We deeply appreciate the dedication of our Kiwi Buddies in exemplifying the Waitākere Way.
We hope our International Students enjoy their time here and make great memories!
