Last week our Year 11 boys mentoring group went into the Auckland CBD for a tour of Spark Arena.
The boys are taking part in the Career Navigator programme run by the Graeme Dingle Foundation. An important part of the programme is industry visits.
During our visit to Spark Arena, the students were taken on a walking tour of the venue. This included being inside the arena and hearing about how they set up for different events, going backstage and into the performers green rooms, walking along the catwalk and checking out The Tuning Fork.
The students were exposed to all of the different job opportunities within the venue and the steps they can take to enter the industry.
After the tour we walked into Britomart for lunch and a round of basketball on Queens Wharf. We were lucky to get a beautiful sunny day in the CBD! It was a great, fun day out for all involved.
