We had the pleasure of hosting Year 8 students from Waitākere Primary School for a taste of High School life.
62 excited Year 8 students arrived on Wednesday morning for our annual Taster Day.
Led by Teachers and a group of enthusiastic Year 9 and 10 volunteer student guides, The Waitākere Primary Year 8s experienced 3 departments across the school.
Science included hands-on experiments on how different compounds such as magnesium burn, as well as the always popular elephant toothpaste experiment.
Dancing, acting, games and making lollie leis were part of the fun during the Performing Arts Section in the Hall.
In Technology, the students unleashed their creativity to create their own wooden robots using upcycled wood and materials, power drills, dowels, and a hot poker to decorate.
The students also experienced our new Healthy lunch programme where every student receives a free, warm and tasty cooked lunch. The Banoffee cupcakes were also a huge hit!
