For the first time, a small group of Waitākere College teachers entered the NZ Teacher Games held at Mount Maunganui over the school holidays.

With a large range of sports on offer, we put together a team for beach volleyball, dragon boating and mystery relays. Up against other schools in mystery relays and fun activities we were able to come out on top and win a Gold medal for our very first event.
Dragon boating was a 'have a go' event but our beach volleyball team played some amazing games for a team that had never played beach volleyball before.
