From the 27th to 31st of August 2020, four students from the Year 12 Service Academy attended a leadership camp run by the Youth Development Unit of the NZ Defence Force at Whenuapai Airbase.

Zachary Thomson, Misty Katene, Ryot Poihakene-Makene and Annamelisha Siaki all took part in a number of activities which involved them taking charge of a group of students to complete tasks. They also had to navigate through the obstacle course at the Action Matakana facility and complete a 10km Tramp along Te Henga Track.

All four students completed the camp and took part in a March Out parade alongside students from other Service Academies from the Northern Region.
