We have 4 winning classes this week! 10U, ASC201/301, EAU202 & EGT202(combined engineering automotive and engineering technology class) and 9FNT 81A
10U Nominated by Mr O'Malley:
This class is hard-working and focused. They come into class, get on with the mahi and strive to understand more. Students ask intelligent questions, they are respectful and enjoyable to teach.
ASC201/301 Nominated by Ms Craig:
The class have now have chosen their personal theme for the year and has just started making our first sculpture inspired by artists who work in the convention of Scale. I am really impressed with how the group are getting stuck in and creating. So much work has happened this week and the class's first large scale works are coming to life we have gone from zero to one hundred in a week. There is some incredible talent in the group with lots of first-timers to Senior Art and Sculpture. They all seem really happy and the class has a really fun creative buzz. I am loving teaching this group of students as they are mature hardworking and if they have been home isolating due to covid they are back in class and just getting on with it with passion and dedication to their project.
EAU202 + EGT202 (combined engineering automotive and engineering technology class) Nominated by a Relief Teacher:
As I am Technology trained I could allow this class during a relief lesson to continue with practical work - the note said: "the students will know what to do, please display the plans". When telling them -Mr Hine says you know what to do -they agreed. This class was exceptional! They worked like -excuse the pun- a well-oiled engine! They got work out, got straight onto work, were able to confidently and safely use machines, if they were waiting for a machine they continued with another part of work. Occasionally a student would come over and check the drawing plan and instructions for making their anglepoise lamp, They did not need my help at all! A fantastic well trained and motivated group of students.
9FNT 81A Nominated by Ms Pepper
9FNT 81A are an absolute delight to teach and I tell them most days that I am very lucky to have them. They have shown incredible manawanui when asked to design their own dishes to cook in our food labs. The ideas have been creative, met the brief and demonstrated a really impressive level of skill in practical cookery. Our class discussions are fun and engaging and everyone contributes to our learning community. Finally, their food products have been outstanding. They have cooked such things as Tofu Katsu with rainbow slaw and Japanese dressing and handmade dumplings made from scratch (including the wrappers). Tino Reka!
