Engineering Academy Level 2, is open to Year 12 and 13 students with NCEA Level 1. The focus of this 2-year programme is completion of industry units that contribute towards the New Zealand Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) Level 4, the equivalent of the first 12 months of an engineering apprenticeship.

First-year Engineering Academy students study offsite one day per week and have in-school engineering classes timetabled within normal school hours. Second-year Engineering Academy operates inside the school on Tuesday's 2 pm-6 pm with an opportunity to participate in work experience one day per week as well as tertiary study one day per week. 

This Academy is part of AWVA (Auckland West Vocational Academies).
