Waitākere College partners with professional homestay providers, offering a wide range of families so that we can find the best match for you - large or small families, with or without pets, with many different hobbies and interests. All are close to school and keen to show you real kiwi lifestyles and a warm welcome. 

Homestay families provide meals, internet and study area, in a comfortable, safe and caring environment. They are visited and police checked before students are placed in the home. Alternatively, should a student wish to live with family friends or relatives, this is referred to as a Designated Caregiver. All Designated Caregivers must be approved by the College and are police checked as part of this process, then visited at least once a year and are expected to attend Teacher/Parent interviews and provide transport for their student to school events.
